Demetri Martin: Currently headlining his stand-up comedy show “Let’s Get Awkward,” Demetri Martin is touring North America. His website lists December 2, 2017 as the last performance in Seattle, WA. June saw the US release of his film Dean, which he directed, produced, wrote, and starred in. Martin was honored at HCB in 2015. Ariana Savalas: The month of September saw Ariana Savalas starring in The Menage a Tour! In August, she performed and toured with Postmodern Jukebox. Daughter of Telly Savalas, Ariana has a beautiful voice and stage presence to boot. Who loves ya baby? We all do! Self-described “the showgirl next door,” she brings the theatrics, wherever she is. Constantine Maroulis: Just in, Playbill has announced that Constantine Maroulis will be playing the incomparable Che in Evita at North Shore Music Theatre, Boston, MA. To quote well-loved Eva Peron, “Good news, Buenos Aires!” Maroulis was honored at the Hellenic Charity Ball in 2011. He is an accomplished Broadway performer and American Idol alum from 2005. Gilles Marini: Throughout his career, Gilles Marini, has had multiple successful television roles. Most notably fans know him from either Sex and the City, Switched at Birth, or as himself on Dancing with the Stars. This summer, Marini appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful as Dr. Ghode. Soap Operas always seem to have handsome doctors, don’t they? Marini was honored at the Hellenic Charity Ball in 2013, and upon hearing his acceptance speech, he conveyed his deep love for his family. With that, Marini also appeared on USA network’s Big Star Little Star with his daughter Juliana, a family game-show which contributes to the celebrity’s chosen charity. Alexander Payne: December 2017 will see the release of Alexander Payne’s newest film Downsizing. The film premiered and opened the 74th Venice International Film Festival in August. Payne both directed and co-wrote the film, and has a star-studded cast that includes Matt Damon, Alec Baldwin, Neil Patrick Harris, Laura Dern, and Saturday Night Live alums Kristen Wiig and Jason Sudeikis. The film is a sci-fi dramedy (comedy and drama). Payne, who received the LAGFF Orpheus Award in June, is an Academy Award winner and was honored at the 2005 HCB.
