“Cascade” by PAUL PSARRAS

Grammy-nominated SF Bay Area guitarist Paul Psarras has released his first solo CD, “Cascade.” A collection of transcriptions and contemporary works for solo classical guitar.  Psarras has embraced a broad range of musical styles throughout his young career. Rooted by guitar and his Greek heritage, he has explored music from all over the world including, flamenco, classical guitar and baroque. Earning Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the San Francisco Conservatory, Paul has studied with David Tanenbaum, Charles Ferguson, Marc Teicholz, Dusan Bogdanovic, Lawrence Ferrara, Sergio Assad and Richard Savino, among others. Ascension Cathedral – Celebrating 100 years

OAKLAND, CA, OCTOBER 7, 2017

The community of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Ascension invites the greater community to its 100th anniversary Gala celebrating the history of its Oakland Hellenic community. Cocktail reception at 5 p.m. Seated dinner at 6:30 p.m. The Black Tie optional evening also features a live production. “Oakland Odyssey” includes a cast of 25 and orchestra, offering a history of the Oakland parish told through words and music, narrated by Anna Kagarakis, 95.7 The Game News Anchor.
